Fun Times at the Hojo Anaheim

When we started planning our first Disneyland trip, we knew we wanted to find a fun, kid-friendly hotel that we could all enjoy as a family. As we did research, we kept seeing the Howard Johnson Anaheim pop up as a suggestion. The pictures looked great and the water park looked so fun, we knew our kids would love it. We booked it and started the count down. From the moment we arrived, we were so impressed with how the staff took care of us and made our kids feel welcome. At the front desk our kids were given gold coin treasure candies, pirate hats and balloon swords and we all knew this was going to be a fun place to stay. Throughout our stay, they hosted special events for kids like a party at the water park with free ice cream and games and offering face painting and glitter tattoos to the kids. It was clear they make fun a priority.

Our room was beautiful and freshly remodeled. The bright colors and Mickey Mouse artwork made the whole place feel happy. The beds were comfortable and the room everything so very clean. They layout was perfect for a family with young kids. We had a fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker right in the room. The rubber ducky in the bathroom was such a cute touch and fun for our kids. Our balcony looked right out into Disneyland and our kids loved watching the monorail go by. We were even able to watch the Disneyland fireworks from our balcony while our kiddos slept one night.

Location, location, location. Probably the best part of staying at the HoJo Anaheim is how close it is to Disneyland. Not only are there great views of Disneyland, it was just a quick 8 minute walk from the hotel to the entrance to Disneyland. You could go back to the hotel for a quick break or if you forgot something. Our favorite part is that we could load up the stroller at our room and walk all the way into the parks without having to unload it or fold it up or get on a bus. Along the walk, you pass several restaurants so you can grab a coffee at Panera Bread or a Happy Meal for your kids at McDonalds. Our kids loved watching the monorail go by right outside the window and picking out different rides in the park like the Matterhorn.

Staying at the Hojo also gives you access to Castaway Cove, their water playground. There are tons of was to play with the water slides, water cannons, splash pad, drench bucket and zero entry pool It was the perfect size for our kids to explore on their own but also let the whole family play together. It was the first thing out kids wanted to do when we arrived. On hot California days, it’s great to walk back from the parks to cool down in the water park and head back to Disneyland in the evening.

If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland, we highly recommend the Howard Johnson Anaheim. It is a perfect family-friendly hotel right in the heart of the magic.
